GOD CALLED US TO BE GOOD STEWARDS

CEO’S Fortnightly Update

March 2025 Edition 4

Our Main Programs – Emerging Leaders Summit, Minds-Meet, CPN Connect and Peace Ambassadors
INTRODUCTION

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is another edition of CEOs’ fortnightly updates. In this edition I will give you a brief update of our programs and will talk about practical STEWARDSHIP at PNGCPN.

When you support in terms of finance, you want accountability in return. You want to know how my money is used. You want to know why you should give when you have family, church, ministry and community obligations to attend too. I want to assure you all that at PNGCPN Accountability, faithfulness, and transparency are the core business daily. We emphasis on turning up to work on time and accurately acquit every toea given to us. In this edition, I will talk more on accountability, Humility and faithfulness in this edition.

ACCOUNTABILITY IN PNGCPN

When I first joined PNGCPN in 2020 our main source of revenue was Blueprint Dinner. We would raise between K50,000 to below K200,000. We didn’t have a budget support from any organizations. However, I have seen steady growth in our finance and membership over the years. Today we have 5 fulltime staff that runs our monthly programs and make sure our office is in operation. We now have over 100 financial members. We have over 360 members on WhatsApp and over 1,700 Facebook followers. Our Database shows record of over 3,000 graduates. Once we have a proper online database, we will streamline each graduate according to your profession. We strive to uphold spiritual accountability as well as financial accountability. So far we have produced 4 financial reports accounting every toes spent. This year we will engage an auditing form to audit our controls and financial statements. PNGCPN is very keen on promoting accountability and transparency in all our financial dealings as well as our commitment to our network members.

HUMILITY AND SERVICE IN PNGCPN

If it wasn’t for a humble and a service heart of few of our members, PNGCPN wouldn’t come this far. Even though our financial membership registration was low and there was little to no constant stream of income, A group of young individuals and our hard working Board layed down their lives to bring the network this far. They have placed their resources at our door step for us to use. We have Norma Kulunga, Chairman Benjamin and Paula Ketegu, Eric and Elisha Haiara, Fiona Pagla, Nelson and Georgina Tapineng, Sharon and Agima Rero, Conrad and Carolyne Kumul, John and Agnes Piel, Kepas and Anna Rekop to name a few that stood with the management. Today we have a strong Independent Advisory Committee, with a competent Board and young Management to take this network into the next 20 years. At PNGCPN we have an equal playing field were every professional is entitled to express their views as long as its in line with the Word of God.  Whenever people of different profession and education qualification come to CPN, they switch on service mode. This is how God designed this network to be, A place that unites us all.

  INTEGRITY AND FAITHFULNESS IN PNGCPN

As members of the PNGCPN, we are called to uphold the highest standards of integrity and faithfulness in our professional and personal callings. Gods calling on someone’s life is very important. Unless you know your calling, you will not be satisfied in life.  When I heard that calling some 6,000 to 8,000 miles away in USA, I knew that this was my calling and I had to leave my comfort zone to come and serve here. Today I seat back and see how far we have came and I can clearly see where we are going. I have seen how God blessed those who were faithful in supporting PNGCPN. In my 4 years at CPN, We were very careful in our public awareness and handling of national issues. PNGCPN under my leadership will remain as neutral when it comes to politics and will faithfully serve our membership faithfully with integrity.

MR. SAMUEL RAY, PNGCPN CEO

CONCLUSION

This is my moto “I report to God first” in all my financial and professionals dealings. God sees my heart, judge motives and my actions. Being a good steward and doing things right in spite of the negativity happening around is difficult but its doable. You just to commit and discipline. If it means you will stand alone, do so as I see reward in doing that. God will honour you when you stand for what is right.

TSCF Engagement

Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF) has a special place at PNGCPN. It is our desire to have a very strong connection with our student network at the national as well as at the institutional level. In the last two weeks we met with Lower Highlands TSCF leaders and Graduates in Goroka discussing how student leaders should work with the graduates on the ground to source support. Our Board will soon sign an official MOU for CPN and National TSCF working together to create pathways for our students and graduates
